biography  Mickey is a natural charmer, the kind of guy who can sweet-talk his way out of trouble and into a girl’s arms without breaking a sweat. He flirts recklessly, shamelessly, sometimes even in situations where he really shouldn’t. He lives for the chase, but once he’s caught something, he tends to lose interest just as quickly. Commitment? That’s just another word for being tied down. He doesn’t do “serious.” He doesn’t do “forever.” Hell, he barely does “tomorrow.”
Michael rarely thinks before he acts. If it sounds fun, if it feels good, he does it. Commitments and responsibilities? He avoids them like the plague. Jack has basically been assigned as his unofficial babysitter.
But behind all the teasing smirks and reckless confidence, Mickey is aimless. He drifts through life like a leaf in the wind—no direction, no solid plans, just rolling with whatever comes his way. Music is the one thing he’s truly good at, the one thing that could actually take him somewhere, but discipline? That’s Jack’s thing, not his. He’s a saxophone prodigy, effortlessly good, but he refuses to put in the work to make something of it. And if Jack calls him out on it? That stings. Because Jack’s the only person whose words actually get under his skin.Mickey’s home life is a mess. His father is a bitter, mean-spirited drunk who despises him, and his mother is too scared, too beaten down, to fight for him. Home was never a place of comfort—just another battleground to survive. So, he found comfort elsewhere—in girls, in music, in trouble, in laughter, in running from anything too serious.
He is a firework—blazing bright, thrilling, and destined to burn out too fast. He’s a reckless flirt, a restless soul, and a gifted musician who refuses to take his talent seriously. He acts like nothing can touch him, like he doesn’t care about anything. But he does—he cares about Jack, about music, about the thrill of the moment. He just doesn’t know how to hold on to those things without losing himself in the process.

 jack woods  "the cool rider"
[best friend / ride or die]
the teenage dirtbag of the town, one that's got girls sighing behind his back and a harley davidson in the garage.
they met in kindergarten, but didn't really become close friends until jack was searching for people to get into his band at 17 years old. he's the extinguisher to his fire, always making sure he doesn't get into too much trouble.
They are each other's ride or die, and the best damn duo in the whole town.
14 — he/him, bisexual.

 steve randle  "the mechanic"
[friend]
The hottest headed member of the gang, working with soda at the dx and a lover of chocolate cake.
They met through Jack when michael's father car broke down and he recomended the DX as the place to get it fixed.
they're friends and Michael will often drop by at the dx just to pass the time, he says it's to be helpful, but he mostly just keeps steve distracted by pointing out chicks that walk into or by the dx garage.
16 — he/him, straight.

 two bit matthews  "the clown"
[friend]
the mickey mouse lover of the gang, the quickest to get drunk and the first to crack a(n unfunny) joke.
They're surprisingly close and jack regrets intrudocing them to each other every day.
whenever they get togheter, there's nothing those two won't do, and let's not talk about them if they're drunk. then it's ten times worse.
they act like fratboys that thrive on impressing chicks (which they do) and they have a competition of who can get more girls by the end of the month.17 — he/him, pansexual.

 paola davidson  "little miss romantic"
[little sister figure]
The sweetest darling in the whole east side of town. always daydreaming with elvis and his romantic songs.
they have known each other ever since jack and him did, since the guitarrist is always dragging her along everywhere.
still, he acts as flirtatious and playful with her as he would with any other girl (which pisses jack off).
He calls her his 'little girlfried' and even steals kisses to her lips from time to time just to get jack riled up.
15 — she/her, pansexual

 sodapop curtis  "the handsome one"
[friend]
the movie star handsome middle brother in the curtis household, working at the DX after leaving school.
since michael knew steve and hung around the dx so much, it was only natural that he'd end up befriending sodapop.
tmost of their conversations are shared over the sound of michael's sax as he plays and nods along to whatever soda says. when soda was sad about sandy, michael just told him to get over it "she's just a chick, man"
16 — he/him, straight

 dallas winston  "the bad influence"
[friend]
Tough and tuff as can be, violent and volatile, the New yorker that moved to Tusla and is living in Buck meril's bar.
they met through Jack and immediately hit it off. they're both chasing skirts and then running from commitment, and they always complain about it to the other over a pack of smokes.
they're really good friends, but dallas hates that whenever Michael gets drunk he serenades him with his sax.
17 — he/him, straight(?)

darry curtis "the responsible adult"
[he dislikes him]
the one with the most weight on his shoulders, the eldest brother and the one working to pay the bills.
he hates him.
totally and completely with all of his being.
he's glad that michael shows no interest in hanging around ponyboy, because he's a really bad influence.
he often tells jack to cut ties with him, mostly because paola hangs around him too: "that michael guy is going to end up hurting her, you know, Jack?"
20 — he/him, gay
